It is built in the tradidional Cycladic style with many narrow, winding streets where you will enjoy getting around. In fact you'll find surprising small boutiques there, cafès, restaurants. The sunset, from the central church of KORFIATISSA or from the Kastro on the very top of the village, is very beautiful, it's a Must! The two small museums: the Folklore and the Archeological are worth a visit. Finally, in Plaka, you can find the HOSPITAL, the Police station,
the City Hall, the Telecom and a Pharmacy.
Nearly beaches are Plathiena, Areti and Fyropotamos.
PLAKES, FYROPOTAMOS, MANDRAKIA.

TRYPITI & KLIMA.
Trypiti is a medieval village built on the hill over Klima. You can
visit here the Christian Catacombs, the second most important after the catacombs in Rome, they are long 184 m. In the same area you'll be able to visit the ancient Roman theatre and parts of the walls of the ancient town of Milos...here is also the place where the famous statue of the Venus was found.
On the hill of Trypiti there is a lovely run of old windmills with spectacular sunsets...as all over the village.
Klima is a traditional fishing village, part of Greek heritage with its " Syrmata", boat garages-cum-seafront cottages.
If you wish to walk from Trypiti to Klima there is a path from the
Catacombs area.
POLLONIA or APOLLONIA
This is the Northern village of the island. One of the tourist resorts of Milos with numerous holiday apartments, restaurants and cafeterias. There are three beaches: the Pollonia beach, Pelekouda beach and Polychronis beach. From the lovely port of this village you can take the everyday boat to the nearest island of KIMOLOS. Provatas is a small seaside settlement on the south coast of the island: this is a large bay with many sandy coves. There are hotels,
holiday apartments and restaurants. In Provatas there are only a few tavernas, but there aren't any markets. The famous taverna TARANTELA is located in Provatas and it promises you delicious Greek and International cuisine!
The nearest town for shopping is Adamas, 7km away.
FYRIPLAKA and TSIGRADO
